Bomod-ok Falls
Location: Sagada, Mountain Province
Type and Height: Plunge/ 46 meters*
Located in this small and quaint peaceful town called Sagada is Bomod-ok falls. Famous for its intimidating height, its strategic location away from the town and the scenic walk of getting there there’s no wonder its presence has attracted attention in the same light as that of the famous cave connection of Lumiang and Sumaging.

We left at 7:00 am on our second day. Boarded our rented van
and drove thru rough road with some zigzags along the way. It took us roughly an hour to get to the jump
off point where we hired a guide. Getting a guide is mandatory.
From the jump off point one must descend almost 200 meters and
trek for around 2 hours. Open your eyes as the one foot wide trail en route to
the falls is equally stunning. The trail encompasses of walking thru gorgeous
rice fields, rice granaries (some are that coming from the original style structure with
no nails involved) and a village.
Water plunging 50 meters above the ground with its water
heading straight down to rock bottom. Bomod-ok falls also called the “Big falls”
possesses a powerful but yet relaxing and refreshing vibe.
How to get there: (From Sagada)
1.)
Rent a van in Sagada town. This van can fit up
to 10 people (Php 650.00/van)
*I advise renting a van as you can opt to let
them wait for you. This will spare you the discomfort of looking for a vehicle
to bring you back to the town after the hike.
2.)
Rent a guide at the jump off point and trek your
way to the falls! (Php 500.00/guide)
*Sufficient fitness for this trek is required.
